Imphal, August 27 2013: Governor of Manipur, Dr Ashwani Kumar has greeted the people of the State on the auspicious and sacred occasion of "Shri Krishna Janmastami" .

A statement issued by the Governor said, 'While observing the occasion, let us remind ourselves His timeless teachings to the mystified Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra to perform his Karma, which exemplify the essence of truth and will forever remain the guiding principle of mankind' .

'Karma in the simplest sense is worshipping work, performing it for its own sake without expecting rewards.

It also symbolizes absolute concentration while performing any task.

In following His teachings let us all perform our duty with devotion for ushering an era of peace and prosperity in Manipur', the statement added.
