AMWJU condemns AR conduct

Imphal, March 26 2012: AMWJU has strongly condemned the detention of General Secretary of All Jiribam Working Journalists' Union Y Sanjit alias Thoiba on March 25 midnight by personnel of 22 AR posted at Jiribam.

Sanjit was released the following morning.

Decrying the conduct of the AR personnel, AMWJU, in a press release stated, that the illegal detention of journalists and threatening them showed the outlook of security personnel towards mediapersons in the state.

It also appealed not to repeat such acts in future.
