Imphal, July 25 2013: The UPPK has informed the people that it has stopped all fund collection activities since it signed an MoU with the Govt of India and the Govt of Manipur on May 24 last.

Any monetary demand served in the name of UPPK to departments or the general public should not be entertain-ed, said a press release issued by the outfit's deputy secretary finance and external affairs Poirei Mangang.

Thokchom Kanta alias BG (45) s/o Chaoba of Bashikhong Bazar and Oinam Athouba alias BG 2 (34) s/o late Chaoba of Singjamei Oinam Thingel who were arrested by Bishnupur comman- dos on July 24 have nothing to do with UPPK for the duo have snapped all connections with the group since a long time back.
