CrPC 144 imposed in Khoibu Centre

Imphal, May 24 2022: Consequent to a tense situation evolving in Khoibu Centre area under Machi sub-division of Tengnoupal district, the district magistrate has imposed restrictions on public gathering in the area under CrPC section 144 with immediate effect.

The order issued on Tuesday cited police report of possible breach of peace, tranquillity and law & order situation in the area as the reason for imposing the restrictions on public gathering of five or more people and carrying weapons of any sort.

However, the restrictions will not cover personnel of law enforcement agencies and essential services, the order added.
