Imphal, August 21 2021: Kakching Battalion of IGAR (South) recovered 45 bags containing Sarpa-gandha plant roots worth Rs 9 lakh near Beru Khudam village on Friday.

According to PRO IG-AR(S), troops of Assam Rifles manning a check post stopped suspicious looking vehicle but the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into the forest.

On checking the vehicle, the bags containing Sarpagandha plant roots were recovered, the PRO said, adding that the recovered items along with the vehicle have been handed over to Customs Division, Pallel for further investigation.
