Thoubal, January 20 2020: Chairperson of Thoubal Municipal Council (TMC), Th Shyamo has been removed from his post after a no-confidence motion raised by eight Councillors against him was supported by the majority of the Councillors during a vote held on January 15 .

Speaking to media persons today, Executive Officer of TMC, H Pradipkumar said that the TMC's Vice Chairperson, AK Sanatomba has been appointed as the acting Chairperson of the Council.

In the vote, 8 Councillors voted in favour of Th Shyamo while nine voted against him and 1 was invalid, he added.
