Imphal, December 01 2015: Scrutiny of nomination papers of 10 wards of Jiribam sub-division for the ensuing Jiribam Municipal Council election was held today, our correspondent reports.

According to an official report altogether 69 candidates have filed nomination papers for the election.

Among these, 29 candidates filed nomination paper for Ward Councillors and the remaining 40 candidates for Ward Members.

As per the report, the INC has fielded 10 candidates and BJP 7 candidates.

Twelve of the total have filed nominations as independent candidates.
