Lamka, August 10, 2012: A man was caught and thrashed by angry locals for raping his own daughter for three times in Churchandpur district on Friday.

Police said, one Oinam Kumar Singh (39) residing in Meitei Leikai was caught by locals of the area on Friday around 8 am for raping his eldest daughter.

Oinam Kumar Singh was later picked up by the police but not before a sound thrashing he got from the furious local people.

The latest incident of rape happened in the evening of August 9. According to the police, the victim Rose (name changed), who could no longer keep quiet, reported the matter to the elders of the locality this morning and the locals in turn nabbed the man and thrashed him.

While the local people were assaulting the rapist, the police rushed in and whisked away the rapist.

Oinam Kumar Singh has two wives and four children including two sons and two daughters.

He got married for the second time some four months ago.

A case has been registered with an FIR number bearing 83(8) 2012 -Ccps U/S 326 /376 IPC.
