Bishnupur, August 04 2015: Tengkhal Khunou, Bishnupur Land Owners' Committee has strongly condemned the State Government's alleged move to acquire arable land from the villagers without giving land compensation to the owners.

A public meeting in this connection was held at UPC Church hall on Sunday during which another public meeting was called by the committee on Aug 8 from 10am.Tengkhol Khunou has already been marked as a site for establishment of State Industrial Estate.

The State Government is mulling erection of a new dam near the said area for which more land needs to be acquired.

The land owners' committee has alleged that the State Government did not follow the set rules under the Land Acquisition Act 2014 in acquiring lands from the villagers.
