Imphal, February 02 2016: A Joint Action Committee (JAC) against construction of bridge at Lilong Nungei Makha Leikai was formed today with Md Aslam Khan as convenor.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, JAC convenor said that the JAC was formed during a meeting held at Lilong Nungei Makha Leikai Ningthibi Khong ground today.

He said that the place where the Government is planning to construct RCC bridge is not appropriate and urged to construct it at Nungei Mayai Leikai instead and also said that they will not object if the construction is done at the present suspension bridge between Irong Khunou and Mutum Phibou.

A memorandum has been submitted to Agriculture & Fishery Minister and local MLA Md Abdul Nashir, Wabagai AC MLA Fajur Rahim, Wangoi AC MLA O Lukhoi, Thoubal DC in this regard, said the convenor.
