Imphal, November 30 2021: The state government said that it deeply regrets the failure of Hill Areas Committee members to attend the meeting mandated by the state government committee on November 29, 1 pm at old secretariat to discuss the proposed Manipur Hill Areas Autonomous District Council Bill, 2021 .

A statement issued by TA and Hills additional chief secretary in-charge Letkhogin Haokip stated that the HAC citing procedural matters unrelated to the meeting convened refrained from attending because of the technicality of the HAC rules.

"The intent of the state governmentls to amicably resolve the issues arising out of the proposed Bill and will continue to take all possible measures to mitigate the issue", it said.
