Eight people hospitalised for food poisoning

Churachandpur, October 31 2024: At least eight people from Songgol village under Sangaikot sub-division have been admitted in the medicine ward of Churachandpur District Hospital due to food poisoning on Thursday.

According to a source, on Wednesday, the eight had a communal dinner and shared some side dishes prepared by one of the villagers with fermented fishes and other vegetables.

Later at night, all eight reportedly fell ill with some complaining of stomach ache and diarrhoea, while others suffered nausea and vomiting.

By 2 pm, all eight were taken to the District Hospital and admitted to the medicine ward for medical attention, the source added.
