Imphal, July 30 2013: The Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) Elected Ward Development Committee Members' Forum has expressed shock over the staging of a sit in protest by councillors of IMC against monetary demand without giving prior information to the forum.

Speaking to media persons at Uripok Sorbon Thingel, general secretary of Elected Ward Development Committee Members' Forum , Haorungbam Santosh said there could be a hidden agenda behind staging a sit-in yesterday in front of IMC by the councillors against a monetary demand that was served 20 days back.

It was not clear whether the demand was to the Council or the councillors, Santosh said while adding that no information was given to the forum of WDC, which has 54 elected members.

Alleging hidden agenda behind the move of the councillors, Santosh said a meeting of the members' forum would be convened on August 4 at the office of IMC Ward No 24, Old Lambulane.
