AR aid infrastructure development in Chandel

Imphal, February 21 2021: Continuing its effort to aid infrastructure development in Chandel district, Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) handed over two solar street lights to two villages of Kana valley area, Chandel district under Operation Sadbhavana Programme 2020-21 on February 19 .

The solar street lights were distributed in a well attended ceremony with Hengmol and Chahkap village receiving one solar street light each as per the requirements projected by the villagers owing to the fact that electricity at these far flung areas is a critical need, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The distribution of solar lights has made a dramatic difference in the lives of many but has also given them a sense of security during hours of darkness, added the statement.
