Vendors rubbish shutdown call

Imphal, August 19 2015: Khwairamband women ven-dors today rubbished the report of 72 hours total shutdown of Khwairamband bazar and demanded clarification from individuals who circulated the report.

Speaking to mediapersons, Nupi Keithel Sinpham and Saktam Kanba Lup secretary Thingujam Rani Devi said no such resolution to impose total shutdown of Khwairam- band market was taken by Khwairamband vendors.

The bandh, she said, was imposed by streets vendor who have no legitimate authority to impose total shut- down of Khwairamband wo-men market without serving prior information to the joint leaders of these four markets.

Demanding a detailed clarification from the those responsible for the report, the lup secretary has appealed the same to notify Khwairamband vendors before resolving on any protest.
