Imphal, May 18 2016: The scrutiny of all the nomination papers filed for Imphal Municipal Council election scheduled on June 2 was held today at the offices of RO/SDO Porompat and Lamphel.

Six Councillor candidates each of Congress and BJP, two of CPI, one LJP and eight independent candidates who have submitted their nomination papers at the office of RO/SDO Porompat have been cleared as well as the 37 candidates for Ward Development Committee Members.

On the other hand, 20 Councillor candidates each of Con- gress and BJP, three of CPI, two of LJP, one of JD (U) and 18 independent candidates who had filed their nomination papers for the IMC election at the office of RO/SDO office Lamphel have been cleared.

Moreover, 155 candidates for Ward Development Commit- tee Members who filed their nomination papers have been cleared.

The last date of withdrawing nomination paper is May 20 .
