Imphal, February 15 2016: Bhumi Prasad (Vikas), EM of Sadar Hills ADC said that four youths from Tapan Naga village had beaten up chairman of Panikheti village, Irang Part-II Nar Bahadur Adhikari and his wife Kamala on Feb 12 around 10 am. In a statement, Bhumi Prasad said that this is not the first time that innocent villagers of Irang areas are tortured by neighbouring villages. He registered strong condemnation over the act while urging civil society organisations concerned to come forward and help the innocent villagers get justice.

The ADC member further urged the law enforcing agency to take cognizance of the matter and do the needful at the earliest.
