Imphal, July 13 2014: Along with honoring several members of Senior Citizen for Society who are above 80 years of age, a panel discussion on the theme 'Need for Better Electoral System in India' was organized by the society at Manipur Press Club here today and adopted certain resolutions regarding important issues pertaining to the State including repeal of the draconian AFSPA.

The discussion held in two sessions was attended by L Lalit, vice-president of Senior Citizen for Society, Dr M Nara, ex-Minister; RV Mingthing, ex-MLA; Prof Janab Khan and Dr Jamini as Presidium Members.

Dr Yugal Rayalu, Prof of Dharampeth Science College, Nagpur and Akshwini Bakshi, National Secretary of Indian Association of Lawyers were also present on the occasion as Resource Persons.

During the function, elderly members of the Society including Ningthoujam Binoy, Thokchom Pakchao, HS James, Dr Rev Haosen Haokip and Abdul Rahman were honored with shawl, citation along with cash reward of Rs 1000 each.
