AR organises Covid awareness / tree plantation drive

Chandel, June 12 2021: Chandel and Moreh Battalions under the aegis of IGAR(South) promoted Covid Appropriate Behaviour and conducted a tree plantation drive in Beru Anthi village, Chandel on June 12, said a statement of IGAR(S) .

Due to the increasing cases of Covid-19 infection and rapid deforestation, the significance of social distancing, proper sanitisation and benefits of tree plantation for maintaining the ecological equilibrium was explained to the villagers.

As a part of the initiative, besides planting the saplings, masks, sanitizers and other essential items were also provided to the villagers.

The village authorities expressed their gratitude and appreciated the endeavour of Assam Rifles for initiating such informative events.
