Imphal, October 08 2017: Bharatiya Janata Party, Tamenglong and Tamei Mandals have refuted the statement made by secretary of BJP Nungba Mandal that the Autonomous District Council Tamenglong has been functioning smoothly .

According to a joint press release of BJP Tamenglong and Tamei Mandals.

ADC Tamenglong which was formed as Democratic Alliance Tamenglong (DAT) with BJP and NPF as coalition partners in 2015 has been reduced to minority since March 27 following the withdrawal of its Vice-Chairman Guisinang PR; Executive Members Kaniangmei and Shanthuiyang; Chairperson, Finance Committee G Poukhui and Chairman, Planning Committee B Thambou from DAT .

Therefore, the incumbent Chairman Namsinrei has no moral and legal ground to continue as District Council Chairman rather he should resign and step down on moral ground, it contended .

It termed the statement as wrong and illogical as ADC Tamenglong remained defunct from the date of putting ‘No Confidence Motion’ against the incumbent Chairman by BJP ADC Members on March 27 last.
