Imphal, January 08 2014: As done in previous years, Wildlife Wing, Forest Dept in collaboration with local clubs and volunteers would conduct census of water birds in and around Loktak lake on Jan 18 .

A pre-census training would be conducted on Jan 13 and 14 at Toubul, a statement issued by the Forest dept informed.

It also informed all inhabitants residing around Loktak lake to stay away from the area during the census period while seeking the assistance and cooperation of the locals for the smooth conduct of the head count.
