Urea, gold biscuits seized
22 Assam Rifles, HQ IGAR (South) seized 12000 kgs of illegal urea at Kakching Khunou Lamkhai on August 4.Truck owner Md Jiten Khan (38), s/o Md Bashir of Saiton who was carrying the illegal items was also arrested and handed over to Waikhong police station.
In another operation, 24 Assam Rifles, HQ IGAR (South), recovered gold biscuits worth Rs 15,25,284 from one silver colour Eeco van (MN04A4236) at Khudengtabi check post.
UPF condoles
United People's Front, Manipur has condoled the loss of lives in the landslide at Joumol, Chandel district.
Extending solidarity to the bereaved families, UPF also appealed to the State Government and other civil organisations to provide necessary assistance to the villagers.
Aid extended
Maniwood Club and Rotary Polocity, Imphal have today provided food materials to more than 250 flood-affected people in Wangjing Tentha Heibung.
The relief items were handed over by the presidents of Maniwood Club and Rotary Polocity.

Assam Rifles units under HQ IGAR(South) have extended relief materials to flood-affected people at the relief camps set up at Thoubal badminton court, Kakching, Pangaltabi community hall, Pangaltabi Public School, Sugnu community hall, Sugnu Public School apart from organising medical camps.
Union boycotts Thoubal College
Thoubal College Students' Union has called an indefinite class boycott of the College in support of the demand for ILP, our correspondent reports.
A statement issued by the union said normal classes would be suspended until suitable punishments are awarded to police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood.
