RNCM lauds inking of peace accord

Imphal, August 06 2015:
Rongmei Naga Council, Manipur (RNCM) on behalf of the people of Rongmei community express happiness and satisfaction on the inking of the historic Peace Accord between the Government of India and the Nagas in New Delhi on August 3 based on the unique history of the Nagas.
This has brought the end to the long drawn Naga struggle for over nine decades since the Naga Raj Movement of Haipou Jadonang (1920s) .
In a press release, RNCM said the council expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his colleagues of the Union Ministry, the Interlocutor RN Ravi and their counterpart - the collective leadership of the Naga people under the dynamic leadership of Isak Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah, Chairman and the General Secretary of NSCN (IM) for the historic peace accord.
