Death anniversary
Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur and Nabadwip Dham will jointly organise the 217th death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra from Oct 13 to 16 at Nabadwip Dham, West Bengal.
According to a statement, a total of 14 cultural troupes from Manipur will present cultural items during the four-day long programme.
JAC postpones stir
The Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has decided to indefinitely postpone its proposed ceasework stir to be staged from August 5 due to the present situation arising out of the pro-ILPS movement and flood.
Heinganglok villagers appeal
Heinganglok villagers, Saikul block under 24 Bongbal A/C have appealed the State Government to provide necessary aid to the flood affected people of the village.
More than 20 paris of paddy field at Heinganglok village under Senapati district have been submerged by overflowing water from rivers.
Longmai leaders welcome Naga peace accord
Longmai (Noney) area joint leaders have welcomed the peace accord signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM on Monday.
The opinion was passed during a joint leaders' prayer session held at Longmai bazar board office by Church fellowship of Longmai area today.
The session also extended support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the collective leaders of NSCN-IM.
Missing person found dead
A 65 year-old man who has been missing since Monday evening was found dead at Ekop Pat in the morning by a search team comprising of Thoubal police, fire service and Tangkha villagers, our correspondent reports.
Ningthoujam Yaiskul, s/o (L) Ibotombi went missing on Monday evening after he left to check his paddy field on a boat.
The boat was discovered along the Aarong river by villagers yesterday.
Shoots self
9th IRB Women Battalion Head Constable Chingaikim Paite (30) s/o Miang of Churachandpur sustained injuries when she accidentally pulled the trigger of his service Carbine at around 1.10 pm today.
She was on duty at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex when she shot herself.
Two bullets hit Chingaikim Paite on the abdomen and she is currently undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
