Imphal, September 03 2014: 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), today initiated a noble pledge and provided succour with an aim to uplift widows' organisation in remote areas of Chandel District.

Speaking to the widows, Brig Rajiv Chhibber, Commander, 26 Sector Assam Rifles, highlighted the need to commercialise their business.

To kick start the initiative, a suitable outlet for selling the products in an organised manner was set up.

In addition, other projects to include Honey Bee Farming and Green House Projects were also discussed with a singular objective of alleviating the hardships of the widows.

Complementing the widows organisation for their hard work, the Commander also assured to assist the widows in sustaining the organisation.
