Thoubal, November 02 2013 : Yairipok Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Th Nokul has conceded defeat in the no-confidence motion moved by a group of Councillors.

The strength of the Chairperson was tested in a special meeting chaired by SDO Thoubal Y Rajen Singh at DC office complex.

Five Councillors namely, S Romola, S Ranjita, L Haripyari, Nashira Bibi and S Tunanbi voted against the Chairperson in the nine-Councillor Nagar Panchayat.

Meanwhile, in another similar motion, Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Sikhong Sekmai Nagar Panchayat have conceded defeat in the no-confidence motion.

In a meeting held at the office chamber of SDO, Thoubal, Md Sukur Ali, Th Bilashini, M Govind, Y Premi Leima, Md Amu Khan, Th Shyamjai and Th Angangcha voted in favour of the no-confidence motion.
