AR conducts Go Green drive

Imphal, July 24 2014: A "Go Green Drive" was launched by 22 Assam Rifles under 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) with effect from 01 Jul 2014.In the series of events a tree plantation drive was carried out in the villages of Waikhong and Pangaltabi on 23 July 2014 .

In cooperation with the civil authorities to include forest department and village authorities a total of 1000 saplings were planted on barren patches.

Such initiatives will not only increase the green cover but will also help in raising the depleting underground water level.

Initiative of the Assam Rifles was appreciated by all the section of the society.

More such drives have been planned to be conducted in subsequent days, covering various district of Manipur.
