Jiri, June 24 2016 : The 11 member media team that left for Chennai on a press tour on June 19 reached Chennai safely on June 22 .

The press tour was flagged off by AMWJU president W Shamjai and is being sponsored by DIPR.

Nine reporters from different media houses in the State and two DIPR officials are taking part in the tour.

The team were received at Chennai by Tamil Nadu State Tourism Department.

On Friday morning, the visiting team met the Information Minister of the State Thiru Kadambur Raju.

Karnataka State Journalist Union president Pattubala Reddy and Indian Jour- nalist Union (IJU) member Dr D Shivasankaran were also present in the meeting.

The team gifted the Minister with a coffee table book on Manipur titled Manipur at a glance.

The team later met Tamil Nadu Union of Journalists presi- dent DSR Subhas.

They also visited the Tamil Nadu State DIPR office in the evening and interacted with its Director Thiru J Kamuragurubaran and other officials.

The officials showed the visiting team the nature of their work.
