Red Shield Division, in their fight against insurgency, drugs and unlawful activities achieved a big success when troops of 5 Assam Rifles seized a huge amount of contraband Ganja weighing approximately 1040 Kg at Tabufu village in Tadubi Sub Division of Senapati.
This contraband Ganja was hidden outside the village at an unsuspecting place.
Acting on a tip-off, the troops launched a search operation on night of 21 November 10 and recovered the contraband.
The general public lauded this recovery and appreciated the effort of the security forces.
The authorities have said that a more proactive and positive approach is required by the public to support the security forces against their drive against smuggling of drugs, which are main cause of deterioration of youth of the North East.
The recovered Ganja is being handed over to Narcotics Department, Imphal.
