Swacchta Pakhwada week commences at Chandel

Imphal, February 20 2021: Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) kicked off Swacchta Pakhwada week under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Mission at Chandel district yesterday and will be concluded on February 25 .

The event is being conducted with an aim to emphasise the importance of spreading awareness about Swacchta mission and its implementation and various activities ranging from Swacchta shapath, talk on community outreach, tree plantation and lectures on personal hygiene and sanitation have been planned for the week, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The event aims to cover all the remote villages of Sajik valley to include Gelbungjang, Chahkap, L Haika, Haika, Paldai and P Salem and this week long Swacchta Pakhwada will encourage the locals to inculcate the importance of hygiene and cleanliness for self and the country, added the statement.
