Thoubal, August 19 2015: Village authorities of Kasom Khullen and Khamlang have sought the attention of departments concerned to the condition of the Kasom Khullen sub-division post heavy rainfall and the resultant landslides in the area.

According to a statement issued by Kasom Khullen village headman S Wungwung, villages under the sub-division have been facing scarcity of food, water, power, medicines and other essential commodities owing to landslides in the area.

On July 30 severe landslides at the sub-division had not only damaged water pipelines and electric connections, but the roads connecting the area have been totally cut off.

About 45 houses of the area were buried in the landslide, it said.

As such, the village authority has appealed the department concerned to provide necessary relief to the people.
