Starting 2015 class 9 and 10 students will be prescribed authentic Manipuri text books without any language adulterations, MEELAL announced.
In a press meeting held at its office premises today, MEELAL secretary Paonam Thakaba informed that the organisation had previously banned writers from infusing foreign words in Manipuri text in 2014.As a result of which, text books were re-edited by the members of the State level Manipur Lexicon Commitee.
The re-edited text books will be published on September 20 after editing, the secretary added.
Meanwhile, Thounaojam Kamba's prose collection, Surrender Leingakki Balli Praja was banned by MEELAL for infusing foreign words in its title.
The writer has, however, clarified that the book was titled as per the rules laid by MEELAL.
It was, the writer added, the mistakes of his friends who took the book publishing news to the media.
Otherwise, he continued, the book was released titled Changjaganba Leingakki Sairel Miyam.
