Naba Volcano honored with Sangeet Bhusan

Imphal, November 10 2014: Renowned singer Naba Volcano who is also a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh was been honored with Sangeet Bhusan award by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Meghalaya on November 8 in recognition of his songs based on unity, AFSPA and welfare of children.

Addressing a press meet at the office of BJP Manipur Pradesh located at Nityapat Chuthek today, Naba Volcano said that the award was handed over to him during a solemn function at the auditorium of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) which was attended by Governor of Manipur and Meghalaya, KK Paul and Vice-Chancellor of the university as chief guest and president respectively.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1000, citation, certificate along with medal.

Another singer from the State, Naba Volume was also awarded Sangeet Ratna award during the function, he informed.

Members of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Meghalaya included renowned poets of northeastern States, writers and government employees.
