Chandel, September 04 2014:
The indefinite bandh imposed by the United naga Council (UNC) in protest against the Ukhrul incident affected vehicular movements in Chandel District on its first day.
A band of supporters, including women, blocked the Imphal-moreh section of national highway near Thamlapokpi Village and the road leading to Chandel district headquarters by piling boulders along the road.
Passenger and private vehicle movement was suspended by the bandh enforcers.
However, no report of violent incident was reported till the filing of this report.
