AR organises screening and awareness campaign

Imphal, September 03 2014:
21 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 28 Sector Assam Rifles of HQ IGAR(S), organised a HIV and Tuberculosis awareness and screening campaign at Gelangai village, Chandel district today.
The campaign was organised in collaboration with Chandel District AIDS Control Organisation and Emmanuel Hospital, Churachandpur.
Around 200 people attended the campaign from Gelangai and neighbouring villages of Sajik valley.
They were screened for HIV and Tuberculosis and medicines for common ailments were also distributed.
The Medical team of the Assam Rifles also educated local populace about HIV and Tuberculosis.
