RPF claims 'successful' attack on AR

The proscribed UG organization, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has claimed responsibility for the attack on a patrol party of 35 Assam Rifles near Khumulen village in Sajik Tampak, Chandel district on the night of November 30. In a statement issued by Chief of Publicity, Taohangsu Heiremcha, RPF said that the attack was carried out by a party of 252 M/Bn of its armed wing, People's Liberation Army (PLA) as a warning to the vast cultivation of poppy plants by 35 AR in interior areas of Sajit Tampak.
At least some AR personnel are believed to be dead and suffer heavy casualties, the statement claimed, adding that the cadres of PLA who carried out the attack have returned to their base safely.
