CTLLSM welcomes abolition of Addl Eng

Imphal, June 01 2013 : Council of Tribal Languages & Literature Societies, Manipur has welcomed the abolition of Additional English from the state education system.

The culture of Additional English in education system and state apathy of tribal languages in Manipur are causing great damage to the mother tongue education in Manipur both in valley and hills.

On the other hand, the culture of Additional English is phasing out in the National Curriculum Framework and the abolition of the subject is a welcome step by all, Rangongning Gangmei, Chairman of the Council said in a statement.
