ATSUM condemns Ukhrul episode

Kangpokpi, August 31 2014: All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has strongly condemned the high-handedness of the security personnel towards the civilians who were taking part in a mass District level Peace Rally organized under the banner of United Naga Council (UNC) at Ukhrul yesterday.

President of the student body Emboi Serto regretfully stated that security personnel in the state never fail to harm innocent civilian when ever confrontation crop up.

They (security personnel) completely forget that they are protector of the people and not slayer.

While conveying condolences to the bereaved family members of deceased and injured persons, Emboi said that ATSUM will not remain silent if the guilty personnel were not punished in accordance to the law of the land.
