ADC candidate meets Governor

Imphal, June 30 2015 : Daniel Leivon Lamkang, who contested the recently held ADC election as an independent candidate at 10-Aihang DCC of Chandel ADC, yesterday apprised Governor Syed Ahmed about the alleged physical assault, torture and high handedness meted out to him by 22 Assam Rifles troops at Waikhong and Kakching Khunou on May 28 night.

A huge amount of money was also allegedly snatched from him.

Daniel met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and requested him to ask the AR authority to conduct court- martial against the involved personnel and return the money.

He also pleaded the Governor to direct the authority concerned to bring the Meitei jawan who allegedly threatened to shoot him at Waikhong police station and book him under relevant Act, pay adequate compensation for violating the election codes and rules, shift 22 AR outside the State and penalise the AR unit under Lamkang Naga tribal customary law.
