Elementary teachers war of stir over non-payment of salary

Imphal, March 31 2017: All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association (AMESTA) has today warned of resorting to intense agitation if the pending salary is not disbursed within 10 days.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, AMESTA general secretary Chingtham Shantakumar said, "1786 teachers under AMESTA are teaching in various elementary schools across the State.

7 months have passed and the Government has not done anything to disburse the salary.

Teachers, too, have family to take care of.

As such, prompt steps should be taken up regarding the matter within 10 days or else we would be compelled to launch an intense agitation" .
