Imphal, July 30 2013: Examination of prosecution witnesses in connection with the rape of a TG Higher Secondary School student concluded today.

Altogether, 20 prosecution witnesses were examined by the District and Sessions Judge, Manipur East as part of the trial.

According to Special Public Prosecutor, Ng Tejkumar, the next hearing is slated for August 14 .

He said the final verdict on the case is likely to be given within a month or two.

It may be mentioned that a student of TG Hr Sec School was raped after she was reportedly drugged inside a restaurant located along Airport Road by Yumnam William, a driver in the police department and a film actor, Thongam Tarun on October 20 last year.

Security forces had a tough time today controlling angry womenfolk who tried to aggress the two rape accused when they were escorted out of the Court Room.

The duo were immediately taken away in a Prisoner Van.
