Imphal, September 28 2012: In continuation of the implementation of blindness control programme under the corporate social responsibility community development scheme (CSR-CD), Loktak Power Station NHPC Ltd has completed the eighth batch of free cataract operations in collaboration with Shija Hospitals and Research Institute.

Nine persons have been undergone cataract operations in the eighth batch yesterday at the hospital, said a press release.

Free medicines, subsidised cost of operation with foldable IOL, transportation and fooding facilities were provided by NHPC Ltd.

100 cases are to be operated during the current financial year, out of which 61 cases have been already operated successfully, added the press release.
