Imphal, February 28 2016:
Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Stu-
dents, New Delhi has demanded Deputy Chief Minister
Gaikhangam's resignation taking moral responsibility for alleg-
edly acting at the behest of one community.
In a statement, the association questioned why the five
police commandos were suspended although Gaikhangam had
clarified on the floor of the State Assembly that they had not
manhandled, arrested or assaulted NSF leaders.
It said that the police commandos became scapegoat in the
vote bank politics of the Deputy Chief Minister, the statement
said and added that O Ibobi must take action against him.
The association said that no such action was taken against
police commandos when a Muslim businessman was abducted,
assaulted and looted in the heart of Imphal city.
