Permit for cellphone tower

Imphal, July 25 2014 :
Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today stressed on the need for reining in unchecked installation of mobile towers in the state by issuing permits, saying such practice could become a serious problem in near future.
The chief minister was replying to a question raised by opposition MLA Dr I Ibohalbi in the House.
Ibobi stated that there are 552 mobile towers in the state, adding the Government has been providing power supply to the mobile companies.
He informed that the Government collects Rs 34.63 lakh from the companies per month as power tariff.
The Government will take steps in order to issue permits for installation of cell towers which could become a serious problem in near future.
