Victims of food poisoning saved

Imphal, July 22 2014:
In a bizarre incident, a mother and her three children from Sundari Basti , Ukhrul were brought in a critical state following suspected mushroom poisoning to the unit hospital of 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) .
The mother, Mrs Elizabeth and her children started developing profuse vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramp few hours after consuming beef meat and mushroom collected from nearby jungle.
Timely resuscitation and management by the medical officer and the medical team of the unit hospital, 41 Assam Rifles averted a possible life threatening situation for the family who recovered after medication and a period of 24 hours observation at the unit hospital.
Mr Pamrei, head of the family and Chaiman of Sundari village authority expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for their humanitarian gesture, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
