Imphal, November 19 2021:
Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Bishnupur on Friday took statements of the 13-year-old and 11-year-old girls who went missing from an area under Moirang police station on November 15 but were subsequently rescued after five days.
According to CWC Bishnupur reports, the girls went out with a 17-year-old boy.
However, there is no clarity in the statements of the alleged elopement.
The CWC Bishnupur has also directed police to produce medical reports of the two girls.
The Committee also clarified that a viral video on social media of a boy and girl getting married has no connection with these girls and advised the public not to post or spread such unfounded news about the girls.
