Imphal, January 16, 2011: From a disclosure made by arrested overground worker, police revealed that Rs.45,000 was extorted from the Ishok gram panchayat, Imphal West district.

The overground worker identified as Oinam Ibohal (45) son of Kondumba of Ishok Chingphu Bazar under Wangoi Police Station was arrested by the 12 Maratha Light Infantry on Friday from the Chingphu bazar area and he was handed over to Nambol Police Station on the same day at 6.10 pm.

Nambol police registered a case which was transferred to the Wangoi police station as the place of occurrence lies within the jurisdiction of the latter.
