Army organises painting competition

Imphal, November 14 2017:
Commemorating Children's Day on the occasion of birthday of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Khuga Battalion organised a painting competition at Rayburn High School at Thinghat today wherein a total of 5 80 students participated.
A press release of PIB Defence Wing said the event was organised with an aim to reach out to the children residing in the remote and far-flung areas and increase awareness and nurture sense of bonding with the nation and its cultural heritage.
The celebration commenced with an educative lecture about the Children's Day and its significance on the Nation by unit RMO.
Crayons and drawing sheets were gifted to the children.
Prizes were distributed to the first three winners selected from each of the categories to imbibe a sense of pride and competition amongst them.
A similar competition was also organised in Khuga and at the border villages of Theigothang, Zoukhonou & Hingtam Khounou to spread awareness and learning through art, said the release.
