Govt offices to use 'Iyong' products: CM

Imphal, September 14 2022: In sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's clarion call for promotion and daily use of Khadi under the slogan "Khadi for Nation," chief minister N Biren stated on his Facebook account that all curtains and other cloth items in his office have been replaced by indigenous cloths made with lyong (traditional loom) in the state.

Inspecting the curtains and other cloth items which have been replaced by those made indigenously, Biren said that the cloths have been beautifully designed and contain motifs of Sagol Kangjei, Pena and Moirang-phi pattern.

Other government offices in the state will similarly start using the indigenous products wherever possible, he conveyed.
