Imphal, February 12 2016 : Zillai (Vaiphei Students' Association) has upheld the Manipur Cabinet decision of renaming Thangting as Kangvai subdivision.

In a statement, Haominthang, president of Zillai (Ghqs) said that Kangvai is suitably located on the highway between district headquarters and State capital.

Besides, it is one of the oldest villages in the region.

The different communities who inhabited the area live in harmony since time imme- morial, it said.

It welcomed and sup- ported the Cabinet decision changing the name of Thangting to Kangvai subdivision, which it also hoped, will bring various developments in the region in the near future.
